Homemade peel-off face mask

Alright, I know this isn't food (although I guess you could eat it..), but it is pretty sweet.

I originally found this here, but I thought I would share it with you :)

This recipe starts out at a paste, but after it dries on your face, you will be able to peel it right off. (Be careful, it kind of feels like ripping off a band-aid, but it gets your pores nice and clean!)

All you will need is:

  • 1 Tablespoon (or 1 packet) gelatin
  • 1 Tablespoon milk (Any kind)
THAT'S IT!

Also, make sure you have a disposable cup, and something to put the goop on your face with (I used a plastic knife) Fingers are great for lots of face scrubs, but unless you want to peel the mask off your fingers for an hour, I suggest using something else.

Step one:
  • Mix gelatin and milk together in a disposable cup using a plastic knife until it becomes a paste (A popsicle stick or a chopstick would work if you don't have a plastic knife). It should look a little something like this:

Step two:
  • Microwave the mixture for about ten seconds to soften it up (And so you aren't putting a freezing cold goop on your face) Then stir it a little bit after you take it out of the microwave. START APPLYING IMMEDIATLY. Otherwise it will start to dry in the cup, or get too sticky to apply.
Step three:
  • Put the mixture all over your face, or wherever you want to put it. Be careful not to put it underneath your eyes where the skin is thin, because it will hurt really bad to peel off (I made that mistake yesterday) Also, try not to get any on your eyebrows or hairline (I made that mistake yesterday as well).
Step four:
  • Wait for about 15-20 minutes, or until the mask is dry. (Once it isn't sticky anymore)
Step five:
  • Now this is the fun part, peel it off! It hurts a little at first, but not too badly. Once you are all done, wash your face and enjoy your clean pores!
